Migrating Birds

Hamza mekdad chose the theme of migration for Soul Kitchen, Factory People’s first permanent venue outside Lebanon, selecting the bird as its central motif. To bring this vision to life, he created an 8-meter-wide kinetic installation, a landscape of backlit iron birds that travel continuously across the wall on a conveyor belt.

This piece creates a moment of wonder, inviting viewers to question whether they’re watching a screen or witnessing something real.

Beyond this, he curated additional pieces, including "The Wings" tapestry by Iwan Maktabi and "The Feather" by Rumy Dalle, establishing a layered chronology of bird, wing, and feather throughout the space.
